In 2008, the Center for Child Success embarked on a journey to partner with the Hannibal Public School system to provide evidence-based mental health and preventive services for youth.  The Mental Health & Substance Abuse Grant was awarded to Hannibal Regional Hospital in April 2008 through the Missouri Foundation for Health.  Through this grant opportunity the Center for Child Success has been allowed the opportunity to provide individual, group and family therapy in the school system, making attendance and success rates sore. 

Over 650 students have benefitted from the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Adolescent Grant.  The program has been very successful in helping to reduce the amount of office referrals or discipline actions needed within the school system.  Since the inception of the grant, the Center for Child Success has tracked the number of children being referred for disciplinary action.  Over the past three years, the Hannibal Public Schools has seen a 55% reduction in the number of office referrals.
